Discounts are available with the Basic licence and above.
Apply discounts automatically in the basket
Our discount system supports many options, including discounts for family members, date-based and price-based discounts. You can also offer a discount when members take several classes or reward loyal members.
Your club decides exactly which discounts apply. Can they be combined with other discounts? Are members always eligible, or only when they register for a full year? Configure these rules and Ledenbeheer calculates the discounts.
General discount rules
Discounts are always calculated per activity. You can therefore offer different discounts for different courses. For example, you might exclude competition teams while offering a discount on regular classes. Discounts are not applied to the basket total but to each course. If a course should have no discount, disable all discounts for that course.
Discounts are also calculated per family member. They apply to each member individually, never to the combined total for all family members.
Even if members add activities later, the discount is applied automatically. We keep a history for each family member so the correct discount can always be calculated.
Discounts do not apply to additional services, the webshop or session passes.
Can discounts be combined?
For each discount, specify whether it can be combined with others. When combination is allowed, the discounts are added together. Otherwise, the system automatically applies the highest discount.
For example, suppose discounts cannot be combined. You offer €10 off for a second family member and €15 off for taking multiple courses. The system applies the €15 discount. If combination were allowed, the total discount would be €25.
Discounts for selected price categories only?
For each discount type, choose which price categories are eligible. For example, you can give a discount only to members who register for a full year, excluding semester registrations. You cannot set a different discount amount for each price category.

The order below matters because it can change the result considerably. It cannot be changed.

Order of activities in the basket
Activities are sorted from the least to the most expensive course in the basket. Discounts are applied in that activity order.
Your customer therefore always receives the highest discount.
Available discounts
Family discount
Find the family discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
Ledenbeheer uses family accounts to offer family discounts. It checks how many family members have already registered with your sports club during the course period.
Set the discount a member receives when other family members are already registered. It applies to individual courses.
Under Settings > General, you can limit the family discount to once per family member per season or year. Otherwise, members receive it for each activity.
Example: if you want to give €5 off for each additional family member who registers:
The first family member registers for two courses and gets no discount because no other family members have registered yet.
The second family member registers for three courses and receives a total family discount of 3 × €5.
The third family member registers for one course and receives a family discount of 1 × €5.
Age-based discounts
Find the age-based discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
Discount based on age group: for example, everyone under 19 receives a discount.
Date-based discount
Find the date-based discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This discount applies to registrations within a specified period. It is useful for early-bird offers or last-minute discounts. Choose a date and define the period when the discount applies.
Multiple-course discount
Set this under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This discount applies to members who register for a specified number of courses or activities.
If you enter dates in the provided fields, the system automatically discounts each course within that period.
If you leave the fields empty, it checks only for overlapping price categories and applies the discount when appropriate.
Choose the percentage or amount members receive per course, rather than on the basket total, for registering for other courses or activities. A discount for, say, five courses does not necessarily apply to a sixth course. Select the option for all subsequent courses if that is what you want.
Choose whether to count courses only or activities as well. For example, counting additional activities lets you discount a sports season for a member who also attended a camp.
Note: courses and activities excluded from this discount do not count towards the total number of courses and activities.
Tip: Make a table of course prices and the corresponding discounts to make setup easier.
1 course: €100
2 courses: €190
3 courses: €250
Calculate the difference between the prices for one and two courses. This is the discount to set for the second course.
Second course: two courses normally cost €200; €200 − €190 = €10 discount.
Third course: €250 − €190 = €60 discount.
Members always receive the highest discount.
Courses in the basket are sorted from cheapest to most expensive. The highest discount is applied to the most expensive course.
Example:
Course 1: €100 (first course, no discount) = €100
Course 3: €110 (second course, €10 discount) = €100
Course 5: €120 (third course, €20 discount) = €100
Course 4: €130 (no discount configured, so it does not count as a course in the calculation) = €130
Course 2: €150 (fourth course, the most expensive, 50% discount) = €75
Total price = €505
Price-based discounts
Find the price-based discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This discount applies to members who have spent a specified amount on active and planned activities when registering. It is useful for clubs with all-inclusive subscriptions.
How does this discount work?
Set a minimum amount members must pay to qualify for the price-based discount.
Once members exceed that minimum, they automatically receive the percentage you configured.
Tip: If you use both price-based and multiple-course discounts, deselect "This discount can be combined with other discount formulas" for the price-based discount. Otherwise, members may receive both.
Do you offer an all-inclusive subscription? For example, if it costs €500, set the threshold to €500 and the discount to 100%. Orders above €500 are then reduced to €0.
Note: If the price-based discount is disabled for a course, that course gets no discount, but its price still counts towards the total.
Missed-session discount
Find the missed-session discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This is an option for members who join a course later and should not pay the full price. Ledenbeheer applies the discount automatically once you configure it.
You can configure the following:

Is it always granted or only with a particular price category?
How much is the discount per missed class?
Discount for active (loyal) members
Find the active member discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This rewards loyal members who register again for the next sports year.
Set the earliest date used to consider a member "active".
The period does not refer to registrations made after that date; it identifies members taking an active course during that period.
Hourly discount
Find the hourly discount under the Discounts subtab in an activity's price settings.
This discount lets you set a fixed price for members regardless of registration order. It depends on the duration of classes: the more hours they take, the lower the hourly price. It is a tiered discount.
How does it work?
In this example, a course costs €98 for the first semester.
Calculation:
Price (€98) ÷ (number of class weeks (14) × hours per class (1)) = €98 ÷ (14 × 1) = €7 per hour.
This means:
€98 for a 60-minute class over one semester (14 classes) = €7 per hour.
€147 for a 90-minute class over one semester (14 classes) = €7 per hour.
€176 for a 120-minute class over one semester (14 classes) = €6.2857 per hour.
This is calculated for each possible combination of classes, as shown below:
Enter these hourly prices in Ledenbeheer. It then calculates how many hours your members want to take.
For example, if someone takes these courses:
Course 1 = €98 (first semester, 14 classes) => one-hour class.
Course 2 = €147 (first semester, 14 classes) => 90-minute class.
The total class time for this group is 2.5 hours in the same semester.
According to our table, 2.5 hours corresponds to €6.1714 per hour.
2.5 hours × €6.1714 per hour × 14 classes = €216 in total.
This discount also applies if members add a course later in the year. Ledenbeheer tracks their sports hours and recalculates the price for future courses.
Total hours per week
In other words, how many class hours a member takes each week.
Example:
Course 1 = €98 (first semester, 14 classes) => one-hour class.
Course 2 = €98 (first semester, 14 classes) => one-hour class.
Course 3 = €147 (first semester, 14 classes) => 90-minute class.
Total = 3.5 hours.
Total hours per price category
In other words, how many class hours a member takes in each price category.
A price category (for example, the first semester) contains 14 one-hour classes:
The number of hours for this course's price category is therefore 14.
Example:
Course 1 = €98 (first semester, 14 classes) => one-hour class => 14 hours.
Course 2 = €98 (first semester, 14 classes) => one-hour class => 14 hours.
Course 3 = €147 (first semester, 14 classes) => 90-minute class => 21 hours.
Total = 49 hours.
Courses selected for this discount count towards the total hours used to calculate it.
The hourly discount looks at the start week of your price categories. All sessions in the same week are included in the calculation.

Frequently asked questions
Discounts and mandatory online payment
When "Mandatory online payment" is enabled, orders are first stored as temporary orders until payment is received.
If a customer has several browser tabs open and registers family members in different tabs, the second family member may register before the first member's payment is completed. In that case, the family discount is not applied.
With mandatory online payment, only paid orders count when calculating discounts.
